Austin crosses over the 1 million resident threshold

Austin is still growing — but barely. “We were thinking that the city of Austin and possibly Travis County might experience population decline,” Austin's demographer said — an unthinkable scenario for a lot of Austinites who are used to their city being labeled as one of the fastest-growing in the U.S.
